The Cairngorm National Park is home to a diverse population of wildlife. There are numerous walks and places of interest to the nature lover.
Ornothologists are drawn to see everything from water fowl, raptors, migrating species and the illusive capercaillie. There are two local dedicated RSPB sites. Insh Marshes is just outside Kingussie and the RSPB Osprey Centre at Loch Garten is also recommended
The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s Highland Wildlife Park is a wonderful family experience with a broad range of exotic animals on display. The park holds a pair of polar bears and their successful breeding program produced the first polar bear born in the UK in 25 years.
