Kingussie played an important part in Jacobite times and the Ruthven Barracks was home to a regiment of British soldiers in 1521.
There are neolithic sites of interest, castles and Victorian mansions to visit. Newtonmore Highland Folk Park is great for adults and children and entry is free.
